Introducing TikTok Shop’s IP Removal Request Report
Published: February 18, 2026
Bringing more transparency to how we promote originality and protect intellectual property
On December 23rd, 2025, TikTok Shop released its refreshed and expanded Intellectual Property Removal Request report, which brings together information about our actions to protect intellectual property rights across the TikTok experience, including short-form videos, advertising, and TikTok Shop.
This builds on our existing Intellectual Property (IP) reports, and is a reflection of the unified approach that we take when it comes to protecting authenticity on our platform.
Our aim with this report is to make it easier for rightsholders, shoppers, sellers, and other stakeholders to understand our progress in upholding IP rights on our platform.
We are also sharing more information about how we approach protecting IP rights with a new dedicated page that outlines our rules, how we enforce them, and how we empower and partner with rightsholders to ensure our community has authentic TikTok experiences—whether they’re viewing content or shopping.
We care deeply about championing originality. We continually strengthen how we protect intellectual property rights so that our community can have authentic experiences on TikTok. For example, this year we’ve reduced the steps needed to report an IP infringement on TikTok Shop. Users who have joined the Intellectual Property Protection Centre (IPPC) now can get to the relevant page in a single click (down from seven).
In addition to improving the user experience, we also enabled Seller Center and IPPC integration in the IPPC. This feature allows rightsholders to log into the IPPC using their existing Seller Center credentials, automatically linking both accounts and transferring registered trademarks verified through our Brand Authorization process. Streamlining both the signup and IP registration processes allows sellers to report infringing content even more quickly. Since launch, approximately 4,000 sellers have used this function to register with the IPPC.
Working with partners
Protecting IP effectively requires strong partnerships. This year, we joined forces with organizations around the world to support IPR efforts and together create a more secure and responsible digital marketplace.
In January 2025, TikTok and TikTok Shop shared our efforts to protect intellectual property rights on TikTok at the Digital Intellectual Property Protection Seminar held in Kuala Lumpur. This event involved more than 200 government officials and industry partners from Astro, EPL, and the Asia Video Industry Association.
In May 2025, TikTok and the International Trademark Association (INTA) launched a year-long campaign to empower young shoppers with the knowledge they need to make mindful purchasing decisions and understand the serious risks linked to counterfeit goods. Through a series of engaging TikTok videos and articles released throughout the year, the Unreal campaign sheds light on the risks of buying fake goods.
In July 2025, TikTok supported Unifab with their consumer awareness campaign on counterfeiting “La contrefaçon dupe. Les vrais produits ont une histoire.” (“Counterfeits trick you. Genuine products have a real past.”)
In 2026, we’ll continue to deepen our collaboration with rightsholders, industry coalitions, third-party vendors, and law enforcement agencies; scale targeted learning; and invest in AI-driven detection, data analytics, and enforcement tools. Doing so will allow us to stay ahead of emerging infringement trends, set new standards for transparency and accountability, and elevate a culture of respect for IP among our community.
